The Jordan Lifecare Centre is currently seeking a Chartered Professional Accountant to assume the position of Finance Officer for the Organization. Jordan Lifecare Centre is a licensed 50 bed nursing home located in River Glade, N.B. (between Petitcodiac and Salisbury), which also operates a not-for- profit homecare business as well as an independent Foundation.
As the Finance Officer and a key team member of the management team, you will be responsible for maintaining a comprehensive and broad accounting system for the organization. This is a full-time position and offers a competitive compensation and full benefit package. As the successful candidate you will be responsible for:
· Maintaining the accounting system and conducting all accounting activities, including but not limited to A/R, A/P, Payroll, month end and year end financial reporting
· Maintaining a system of internal controls over all financial transactions
· Assisting in the preparation of the internal budget (in concert with the Executive Director) and reporting monthly the financial position of the organization and its components to the Board of Directors, Executive Director and Departments Heads
· Maintaining the accounting system for Resident Trust Funds
· The establishment and maintenance of credit and collection procedures
· Managing payroll functions for approximately 70 staff, most of whom are unionized
· Managing inquiries related to payroll and benefit information by staff.
You will possess:
· A professional accounting designation (CPA) or university degree in business administration/commerce with a concentration in accounting or actively enrolled in a professional accounting designation program at level 3
· A minimum of 3-5 years progressive experience in accounting
· Experience with Sage 50 Accounting Systems and Microsoft Excel
· Good communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills

The Dietary Department at the Jordan LifeCare Centre is now hiring a casual cook. This position has no guaranteed hours. Selected candidates must be available for on-call shifts, weekdays, weekends, and statutory holidays.
Under the supervision of the Director of Nutrition and Support Services, the cook provides high-quality food and nutrition services for residents, staff, and visitors – while remaining in compliance with policies and standards within the Food Service industry and the Jordan LifeCare Centre.
Job Duties and/or Responsibilities
A - Administrative Duties
· Supervises and delegates duties to other dietary staff.
· Responsible for staff replacement in the absence of the Director of Nutrition and Support Services.
· Communicates with residents, families, team members, health care professionals, and departments within the Centre concerning dietary needs.
· Monitors and/or manages dietary sales such as meal purchases and meal tickets.
B - Meal Preparation
· Prepares and cooks meals according to planned menus, requisitions, and
established recipes.
· Prepares and monitors special diets such as allergies, gluten-free, no added salt, high-fiber, and other therapeutic diets.
· Prioritizes food preparation and cooking tasks within the established time frame.
· Bakes items such as desserts and breads.
· Monitors and documents food and refrigeration temperatures.
· Monitors and documents resident’s diets.
· Portions and serves meals to residents according to assigned diets.
· Caters for special functions such as holiday events.
· Practices safe handling of food as required by Public Health Standards such as proper storing and dating of foods and observes personal hygiene.
C - Other Duties
· Cleans and sanitizes kitchen equipment and surface areas such as grill and ovens.
· Operates kitchen equipment such as ovens, meat-slicer, stock pot, blenders, and steam table.
Qualifications:
· Certificate in Cooking from a recognized school of instruction and/or Red Seal Certificate.
· Food Safety Handler’s Course.
· Graduation from High School or equivalent.
· Demonstrates good communication and interpersonal skills.
· Good previous work attendance record.
· Physically capable of performing assigned duties (medium to heavy lifting).
Health and Safety Responsibilities:
· Maintain knowledge of the current facility policies and procedures, disaster and fire plans, infection control and other programs as may be required by the Home. Ensure that policies and procedures are followed by the staff.
· Must have a thorough knowledge and ability to demonstrate the safe use and care of supplies and assigned equipment required to provide service.
· Provide a safe and clean environment for the residents, staff and visitors.
· Observe safety measures and rules and immediately report hazards.
Salary Range:
As per the collective agreement (CUPE 4463)
$25.23 - $27.16
Hours of Work:
The selected candidate must be available for on-call shifts, weekdays, weekends, and statutory holidays.
